Hi moms, if you're like me, you want to make this Christmas meaningful for your family. It's important that we take some time to teach our children what this time is for- that God gave us the ultimate gift in His Son & we can share His love with others. This thursday, December 15th, we will be visiting Sunrise Assisted Living in Claremont to share God's love through a simple song & craft for the residents there. We will first meet at my house in San Dimas at 10am for some craft-making & snacking then we will go to Sunrise at noon (for those who can go) to meet the residents while they have lunch.
I live at 802 Tucson Ct. San Dimas 91773. You can park in the guest parking spaces & in our driveway...
Sunrise is at 2053 North Towne Ave. Claremont 91711
See you soon!

September Soup
Every month You can find a family friendly & healthy recipe on our blog to try! This recipe comes from one of our own, Tina, who I've heard has a gift for food. Can't wait to try this one out. Enjoy!
Homemade Chicken Soup
By Tina Burke
2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
2 medium carrots, peeled and chopped
1 parsnip, peeled and chopped
1 medium onion, chopped
2 ribs celery, chopped
2 bay leaves, fresh or dried
Salt and pepper
8 cups good quality chicken stock
1 pound chicken breast diced
1/2 pound spaghetti noodles, broken up
A handful fresh parsley, chopped (I sometimes use dried)
A handful fresh dill, chopped
Place a large pot over moderate heat and add olive oil. Work close to the stove and add vegetables to the pot as you chop, in the order they are listed.
Add bay leaves and season vegetables with salt and pepper, to taste. Add stock to the pot and raise flame to bring liquid to a boil. Add diced chicken, return soup to a boil, and reduce heat back to moderate. Cook chicken 2 minutes and add noodles. Cook soup an additional 6 minutes or until noodles are tender and remove soup from the heat.
Stir in parsley and dill, remove bay leaves and serve.

Better Together
Thanks to God's timely and magnificent will, this group is born! He gave us a vision for a mom's group and here is the beginning of that vision carried out! This group is meant to be a resource for moms of all ages and stages. We want to be able to reach out to our community and help meet the needs that moms often have as they navigate this interesting and often surprising road called motherhood. You will notice the calendar of events on the right panel- we are meeting the first & third Thursdays of the month- beginning with the 3rd Thursday in September.
Mamas, it is our prayer that you come away feeling refreshed- knowing that you are not the only person cleaning up diaper explosions when you realize the wipies have just run out.... that you're not the only one who has had to leave a store because your screaming toddler was testing the acoustics in the building.... that you're not alone when you know that somehow you want to savor every moment of your child's antics, even when you haven't had 5 minutes to yourself in a week. Can anyone else out there relate? Moms, we are here to journey onward and upward... together!
